Driver and monitoring features for the 200/25/ZR
The following are a listing of a few selected driver and monitoring features which have been applied to my 1996 rover 200 series, and then the 2004 MG-ZR 120 plus, over a period of time, A few applications deliver both audible, and visual vehicle information directly back to the driver.
Having installed a coolant low level warning sensor into the 200 many years ago, then transferred into the MG during 2010, its been a reliable feature. the sensor activates an instant warning alert. soon as the coolant level for any reason drops below the coolants minimum safety mark. More Info.
This unique security fitted sat nav project created in 2008, was designed to be concealed within the 200/25/ZR centre air vent, activated from a dashboard located one touch power button. Garmin nuvi 200 was used for this project, mounted on multi-directional alloy support bracket. More Info.
A weekly check on lights will not guarantee a bulb has not blown since that time, brake lights are both important for safety and legal requirements, so a bulb monitoring system was considered to being created and installed over the next couple of days. More Info.
Using a dashboard mounted video camera over a number of years, for the occassional and interesting motoring journals, decided on a permanently installed dashcam, so using the cheapest around, the DVR 207 for testing puposes, video quality was quite good. More Info.
Replacing radio/cassettte player as fitted to the 200 with CD/Radio, is a straight foreward plug and play option, replacement was a Kenwood KDC 3031A including a wiring kit, Autoleads PC99-X04 multi stalk adaptor and PC99-KEN patch lead, not all HU's accept audio remotes. More Info.
