With various aspects of servicing, maintenance, including driver assisted features and vehicle monitoring. For our 1996 Rover 200 and the 04 ZR 120+

The tailgate wiring loom YMN 101940 of the 200/25/ZR do tend to cause plenty of electrical problems, especially in the section of where wires pass from body to tailgate through a small rubber sleeve. Located on each side of the tailgate hinges, sleeve on the left contains only the water supply tube for rear screen wash. The sleeve on the right carries a multitude of wires. high level brake light etc.

YMN 101940 Tailgate Wiring

Wires inside the sleeve constantly fold over each other every time the tailgate is in use, so will fray and eventually break, damaged wires will create electrical problems, soldering a couple of broken wires is not a problem, although a replacement loom is a better option.
