With various aspects of servicing, maintenance, including driver assisted features and vehicle monitoring. For our 1996 Rover 200 and the 04 ZR 120+

Replacing the useless single horn of the MG, and then adding a much more responsive twin horn installation much like, and if not even better than the positive sounding ones which were originally fitted as standard equipment to the old Rover 200 series. .

Twin Horns Now Fitted ZR

Fitting the horns was a straight foreward swop, made easier with the front bumper out of the way, the old horn securing bracket was so corroded from where its located. This was then replaced with an alloy one that was supplied in the fitting kit.

Quick access to the horns, was to have the steering on full right lock, and pull back the wheel arch liner, but working in a tight space to do a proper job is always going to be difficult. As other maintenance was to be included with fitting new horns, the bumper was removed. These included cleaning out windscreen washer tank, bonnet locking mechanism greased, and bonnet release cable oiled.

Cable Oil Injector

Shown in use on the old 200 bonnet release cable, also ideal for applying a light oil injection to accelerator cable, and including vehicles that have a manual choke cable system, etc. .

Front Bumper Removal

Bumper to wing are 4 x10mm bolts, 2 at each side, accessed by pulling back wheel arch liners, require having the steering on full alternate lock, these 4 bolts are not the easiest to remove, and will be corroded with the possibility of having to replace each of them. Along the bottom edge are 3 x 10mm bolts, in the middle 6 cross head screws, 3 located at each corner, leading edge 5 x 10mm bolts. review this page
