Coolant Sensor

Cooling system did not need being drained, just syphoned out, then replaced back into the new coolant tank. Reed sensor connector can can be seen under the new tank.

Cabin Heater

The heater matrix valve is basically a SAAB C900 unit usually comes supplied with 4 new coolant hoses attached, these cars are now old, so this was replaced during a more in depth fault finding procedure.

Inlet Manifold Gasket

Always found the better option when replacing the inlet manifold gasket is not just detached from cylinder head while new gasket is fitted, but removed from the vehicle, makes it easier to work on, and better access for cleaning of the unit.

Fuel Filter

Not changed for several years, dirty fuel filters seriously affects performance, including bad idling issues, safety concerning the fuel system, so this was carried out on a cold engine. Charcoal canister may restrict access to the filter, easier if this is removed.
